So some of the fights and boss battles are just rougher, and I don’t think the story is on the same level (though it’s pretty enjoyable in itself at parts). Kiwami 1 carries forward a lot of cruft, just from being a remake of an older game and some things (but not all things) being brought forward just like how they were in the PS2 game. Yeah that’s a valid concern, to be honest. If you try it and like it enough, then I’d recommend checking out the others in the series. If you were to only play one of them, it should be that one. So from me it’s an easy recommend for game pass. It’s also the most self-contained story, since it takes place a few decades before the other games, which makes it an easy jumping on point. Yakuza 0 is probably one of the strongest titles in the series, and also one of my all time favorite games. You can really play it in either order as those things are pretty minor, but I think the release order from above is best. Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1 use the same engine, and Kiwami 1 was remade after 0 - so it has some side quests and small additions that more or less assume you play 0 first then Kiwami 1. Yakuza 0 (2015 release, prequel) - set in Tokyo/Osaka 1988.To add on/clarify what was said, here’s the three Yakuza games on game pass:
